Rachel will be joining the Opera Ithaca Community Ambassadors as they foster a discussion around the important topic of women and their portrayal in opera. Scenes from Don Giovanni, Carmen, and Lulu will be presented along with a discussion of how these operas treat their heroines and how, as modern women, we deal with characterizing and living with these roles. Rachel will be taking on the role of Lulu and will be joined by Alison Wahl (Donna Elvira), Dawn Pierce (Carmen), and Maria Rabbia at the piano.
