Recital: "From Antiquity"

Join Rachel as she explores music that takes its inspiration from the Renaissance and Baroque periods. She'll be performing lute songs by Dowland, Rosseter and Purcell, Larsen's "Try me, good King" and Schönberg's "Jane Grey" that found inspiration in the lives of 16th-Century British monarchs, a set of Reichardt songs is set to poetry written half a millennium ago by Petrarch, a group of neo-classical Hahn songs and Rodrigo's "Cuatro madrigales amatorios" that take the musical styles of the renaissance and baroque as their starting points. She'll be joined on stage by Hsin-Chiao Liao on piano and Kevin Devine on harpsichord.
